Young Dad Wins Back Custody of Child Adopted Without Consent

26-year-old Jeremiah Sampson waged a three-year court battle that forced him to drop out of college to pay for legal expenses in gaining custody of his child.
Sampson drove five hours to Rolla, Mo., once or twice a week for more than six months to challenge the adoption in court. The adoptive parents threw a towel over the baby’s head in court, refusing to let him look at his birth father.
Born and raised in Coweta, Oklahoma, Sampson had four older brothers, three sisters and a mother who worked two jobs to support them all. He didn’t meet his father until he was 13 and hasn’t seen him much since. “I would never do that to my own flesh and blood,” Sampson said. “I would never walk away from my own child.”
Sampson is now suing the adoption agency for violating his parental rights by going ahead with the placement even after he objected.

two things

1) i was invited to new orleans this weekend but i already said i’d go to my girl’s parent’s wedding which is not a joyous occasion by any means and when she ‘reminded’ me monday about it (a wedding) i was like ‘oh idk what’s goin on this weekend’ and she got mad but i don’t think i knew it was her parents when she said. anyway i’d rather be going to new orleans than this fucking wedding

2) i’m too poor right now to go to new orleans and not feel bad about goin to new orleans after i get back anyway which gives me a different case of sads

i decided i needed to throw that tantrum before i got around people.

today makes nine years.

august 29th, 2005 ….

i still feel a type of way about it.

i just miss what my city used to be.

(via trillaryclinton)

today was fucking productive

i learned a thing applied it and submitted it to a lotta people and i’m just so proud of myself because i usually have such a hard time with motivation but today was just good and now i have to go to sleep and do it again tomorrow

Designin Woman

Former supervisor asked if I could help with a flier and gave me a pic she wanted to use but wasn’t sure it would work but i wanted to use it so i taught myself this morning how to do some tricks and did my flier at work AND IT LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME i mean the measurements aren’t quite all right yet but holy hell i’m so proud of myself right now I’ma send it to my mama and brag on myself for it

Just the other day Saturday a lady from V8 Splash saw the flier i did when they were comin and said she liked it and that they may snatch me

And then the people that I did maps for liked my maps a whole lot

Like I’m secretly on my shit right now so now I just need to get good enough to where I feel like I can charge people who don’t know how to do it themselves for it

and then i’ll quit my job and freelance for the rest of my natural life

is there a version of freelancing that still affords one insurance because i like being insured i’m privileged as shit to have it even if it’s not that great

__

so i started this many hours ago and forgot to post it but here whataever

but i sent my flier to the branding dude where i work and he said it was a good start and gave me pointers to make it brand compliant and i wasn’t expecting him to look at it or respond for like a week and i’m just like WEEEEEEEEEEEE

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

She is the type of white girl that says things like
" I went to afropunk and everyone there was so nice."
" They liked what i wore."
" What do you mean cultural appropriation? I  come every year and no one bothers me."

backwashed-barrel and I saw her getting her photograph taken and could not believe it. The photographer was white, too. A white photographer at a Black music festival photographing a white woman appropriating other cultures. Yes.

Exploiting black culture and appropriating it at the same damn time.

why does she look like Riff Raff

Because all racists look alike

if yall didn’t realize AP was over before, then this was the call
